The first trailer for FX’s What We Do in the Shadows is here! And it introduces us to Guillermo (Harvey Guillen), who acts as a familiar to the ancient vampire Nandor the Relentless (Kayvan Novak) and lives with his and his roommates, Nadja (Natasia Demetriou) and her boyfriend Lazlo (all hail Matt Berry). Oh, and there’s another roommate…but watch the trailer first, I don’t want to give him away.
And thus you meet your favorite television character of 2019: Colin Robinson, energy vampire. (And having seen the pilot, I can confirm that Mark Proksch sucks the blood out of every scene he’s in.) The series relocates the action to New York, and will follow the nocturnal hijinks of the roommates as they deal with an older, much more traditional vampire coming to check in on their, um, lives. The 10-episode series was written by Jemaine Clement, Stefani Robinson, and Tom Scharpling and directed by International Treasure Taika Waititi.
