It’s a big goal for a film that hasn’t even announced a synopsis: Don’t Look Inside, from writer-director Mike Lé Han, is being described as an “emotionally charged narrative with chilling, franchise-ready mythology,” according to Deadline. Talk to Me and Smile are mentioned as comparable movies.
Whatever the spooky story, the film has its cast, and is set to star Rachel Nichols (Continuum), Britt Robertson (Tomorrowland, The Rookie), Missi Pyle (Galaxy Quest, Y: The Last Man, pictured above), Nelson Lee (Ahsoka), and Bruce Davison (Ozark; 1923; getting melted in X2). Lé Han said in a statement, “This cast is extraordinary. Their emotional range and commitment to the story gives this film the gravity and intensity it demands. We couldn’t imagine making this film with anyone else.”
Lé Han has directed a number of shorts, including “Mrs Peppercorn’s Magical Reading Room,” and created a pitch trailer for Hellraiser: Origins, which never got made into a full-length film. He also worked on visual effects for the film Blue Beetle and the series The Man Who Fell to Earth and The Winchesters, among others.
Deadline notes that a sequel to Don’t Look Inside is already outlined. This mysterious film begins production in Minnesota this fall.[end-mark]
