Ghost Fleet, the Dark Horse comic created by Donny Cates with art by Daniel Warren Johnson, is set to get a film adaptation from Steven Caple Jr., whose previous credits include Creed II and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

The eight-issue action-packed comic centers on a trucker who gets a peep of the mysterious cargo he’s transporting and… everything changes.

Here’s the official blurb:

For the world’s most valuable, dangerous, or secretive cargo, you don’t call just any trucking service… You call THE GHOST FLEET. When one of the world’s most elite combat-trained truckers takes a forbidden peek at his payload, he uncovers a conspiracy that will change his life, and the world, forever!

What exactly the cargo is and what the Ghost Fleet is, exactly, remains a secret to the reader… at least for the first issue, which is full of action almost from the get-go. Indeed, Ghost Fleet was described by critics as a genre mashup that has action thriller, sci-fi, mystery, and horror elements.

The film adaptation is the first from Grey Skies, the production company Caple Jr. established that has a first-look deal with Paramount Pictures. Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Blue Beetle, The Boys: Mexico) will pen the script. Caple Jr. will direct as well as produce.

The project is still in its early days, so no news yet on when Ghost Fleet will go into production, much less who will be on the call sheet.[end-mark]
